Environmental Commitments

 

 

  • Commit to continue publishing LVMH's climate footprint, and reducing it further by 10% in 5 years, and 20% in 10 years. (between 2013-2014, CO2 emissions for LVMH rose by 4%)

  • Commit to engaging employees yearly to enhance eco-consciousness to reduce material wastage and increase eco-efficiencies throughout its company, such as by using energy-efficient light bulbs

  • Commit to evaluating suppliers in the supply chain and ensuring that they reduce carbon emissions

  • Commit to switching to 10% renewable sources of energy in 3 years, 30% in 10 years (renewables currently comprise less than 1% of energy usage)

  • Commit to shifting 20% of the business from retail stores to online outlets in 8 years in order to reduce carbon emissions

 

  • Commit to 100% removal of leather resulting from deforestation of the Amazon rainforest from the supply chain in 7 years

 

  • Commit to cutting down materials usage in their packaging by 15% in 5 years, and 30% in 10 years

 

  • Commit to sourcing 30% local raw materials as opposed to global imports to reduce footprint of logistics within 6 years

  • Commit to expanding into new eco-friendly lines of luxury clothing made from materials, such as bamboo fiber, that involve 30% less chemical treatment than normal within 5 years. 

 

  • Commit to investing and hosting annual fashion events in Paris to showcase and promote sustainable clothing design (such as EcoLuxe).

 

  • Commit to 80% eco-labelling of products within 5 years

 

  • Commit to completely eliminating all hazardous chemicals used throughout the entire product life cycle within 3 years

 

  • Commit to moving 20% of retail business to online within 10 years
